We're Plan "B'ers"
As of Wednesday, Bayou Rescue had to make the decision to postpone the next trip for 11 days, in order to procure more supplies, donations, and the ever-so-essential copilot and volunteer #2 (Anyone that knows of Amber's tendency for sleepy-driver-syndrome shuddered at the thought of her driving 27+ hours by herself).
We had started to wonder how things would happen at all, then this morning we were notified by Weaver Street Market in Carborro that they will be generously sponsoring our next trip, AND Dave has started walking again (he had knee surgery on Monday).
So the NEW deadline for drop-off of supplies to be transported to sites along the MS gulf and New Orleans will be Thursday, October 27th. Attached is an up to date list of needs. If you'd like to help provide any of these supplies, you may drop them off at Four Paws Animal Hospital in Chapel Hill (off Raleigh Rd/Hwy 54 near UNC). ALSO - if you can make a trip BEFORE 11/6 - please let us know!
