Bayou Rescue Aid for Kat5 animals

Bayou Rescue will be assisting Kat5 with transportation needs from the Dewy Rose facility, where they have been caring for over 150 neglected animals for the past 5 months.  Paws up to this group, who have placed over 100 animals so far in wonderful, caring rescue & foster organizations across the country.  SEE LAST WEEK'S POST FOR MORE INFO ABOUT THIS EFFORT, AND FOR PHOTOS OF THE ANIMALS.

To make monetary donations you can do so by pay pal on the BAYOU RESCUE website.  Please make sure to indicate that the donation is for the Kat5 effort.  To coordinate in-kind donations of crates or other pet supplies, please email us.

Also, a big THANKS to Novartis Animal Health and Rob Simms for agreeing to provide assistance in the form of providing some much needed medication!!

Help Kat 5 save the 44 remaining..

Molly_548_1 Gia_2 Kat 5 Animal Rescue needs your help to save the remaining 44 animals of the former Canine Angels in Dewy Rose, Georgia. Time is really running out.

Kat 5 Animal Rescue stepped in to save these animals from being seized by the Dept. of Agriculture in GA,  in a hoarder cruelty case. This group has cared for and placed most of the 150 dogs, 13 cats, a pig and a boar. After 5 months of hard work, they now have 42 dogs, a pig and a boar remaining.  They fortunately received a PetSmart grant to help with most of the past vet bills, but still need money to continue to feed, care for and transport these animals to safety.

Above all, they safe placement for these animals. Please contact Kat5 if you can take even a few of these deperate animals.

TAKE A LOOK AT THESE BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS and DONATE TO HELP GET THEM TO SAFETY.

Bayou Rescue can also help Kat5 pay for transportation costs for these animals to get to safety.  If you donate via PayPal on the Bayou Rescue website, please mark KAT5 on your message.

Pets of the Month for Adoption...

Are you looking for a family member that exudes a love for life, and a love for all people and dogs in it??  Alex and Wesley are now available for adoption!  These buddies appear to be littermates, both are about 1 year old or perhaps a little less.

Alex Alex is the leader of the two.  This handsome boy weighs about 65 pounds and looks like a small version of a St. Bernard (with shorter hair and less slobber).  Alex loves to ride in cars, and enjoys romps at the dog park, and  chasing his soccer ball.  With some obedience training, Alex will be an ideal hiking or running partner.  Being the free spirit that he is, he prefers open spaces to crates or small rooms, so a fenced play yard is a must for his new home.  A canine playmate would be an added bonus!

Wesley Wesley is a bit smaller, about 55 pounds.  Like his brother, he is an attention seeker.  He's also a quick learner, and knows that good stuff follows a quick "SIT."  Wesley will also need basic obedience and leash training, but because he's so eager to please you may even find the process to be fun!  Wesley is also an ideal dog for the dog park, as well as for a home with other dogs.  He has met a couple of cats and has sniffed, but seems to know not to be a space invader and to keep his distance.  Wesley is also athletic and would prefer a large yard to play in during the day, hopefully with another happy dog. Of course, after running around outside all day he'd like nothing more than to lie at your feet and enjoy some lovin'.

Both dogs are fully vetted, HW negative., and will be neutered this week.

If you are interested in bringing either of these dogs into your family, please email us. and we will send you an adoption application.

Thanks a lot Pres. Bush...

No really, we mean it this time. And thanks to all of you who wrote your representatives about the Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards (PETS) Act.  Click here for details about this bill, which has finally made it through the Senate, the Housee, and presidential approval.
