Mission ALMOST accomplished..

...and will be COMPLETE with a little help from friends like you!!

Remember the case in Sanford, NC where over 300 dogs were found in deplorable conditions at the property of  hoarder?  For a reminder and updates, click here.

The fantabulous folks at Animal Legal Defense Fund and many equally superb volunteers stepped in to prosecute the 'owners' and care for the victims.

Talk about persistence and dedication! Almost 2 years after discovery of this abuse, the NC Court of Appeals issued their opinion in the case of ALDF v. Woodley, and it was a UNANIMOUS ruling for the ANIMOUS (and ALDF).

Over the course of this case, OVER 300 dogs have been vetted, socialized, loved, fostered, and adopted.  There are just a few more that still are hoping for a safe, caring home of their very own.

Ginger Ginger is one such gal - imagine how much bigger her smile would be if she found a forever home!  Please read and share her adoption poster, for another VICTORY in this case!  Download Ginger_flyer.pdf

PRESIDENT SIGNS LANDMARK LEGISLATION

Delia_2 After 6 years of campaigning (by animal rights groups, not just the president), president Bush signed the Animal Fighting Prohibition Act.  This legislation sets felony penalties not just for animal fighting, but also related activities, including the sale of cockfighting weapons.

PLEASE SHARE THIS VICTORY WITH FRIENDS!

Still together

Atticusboo Atticus and Boo are 2 "brothers" from the Reidsville rescue that were taken by Cat Angels.  These lucky boys are enjoying the comforts of a loving new home together.  Looks like they are looking for the birds that belong to that bird feeder by the window!

Over 100 cats were removed from the overcrowded Reidsville home.

THANK YOU TO EVERY RESCUE, AND EVERY INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER, FOR YOUR TIRELESS WORK!!

To find out about all the organizations have these and many other purrfect felines for adoption,  please check the JANUARY archives for a list and links to their websites!!
