Update on shelter at Qualcom Stadium
Update from Dianne Montague, Noah's Wish Coordinator, region 4, photos courtesy of Noah's Wish
As
you may already know Noah's, Wish was asked by the City, and the County
of San Diego to come in a set up a temporary shelter during the San
Diego Fires at the Qualcomm Stadium.Noah's wish volunteers sheltered and feed around 200 animals, including horses, goats, ducks, bunnies, dogs, cats, cockatiels, and an amazon parrot. They provided supplies to hundreds of community members.
Due
to the changing demographics of the fire many residences have returned
home, therefore the Qualcomm shelter has been closed and the Noah's Wish shelter was closed Friday afternoon, October 26.The remaining people will be housed in Red Cross shelters, and the remaining animals housed in Del Mar animal shelter.
Three cheers to the Noah's Wish Team which was in the field and three cheers to everyone else who offered time and/or support.
