Sometimes I find it difficult to keep on doing what I know is the right thing. And, I don't do the really hard work of picking up the strays from the side of the road or going to the fire to discover that a beloved pet has been lost. I only read the information and then try to do what is right. Sometimes, I just erase my emails. Sometimes, I quickly scan something to see if I can force myself to read about the horrible thing that is happening. Loving animals is a very hard, soul wrenching thing to do, sometimes.
Today, I wrote to people in California begging them to save the life of a dog who has been on death row more than four years now and who has been declared non-aggressive. His time has almost run out. If you are interested in this case, be sure to read about it before July 13 when his deadline comes due.
Meanwhile, my heart breaks for all of the animals who don't have a chance for a normal life. I wonder, how is it possible that a dog, evaluated as non-aggressive dog, could have spent time in "jail" for the past four years and counting? How do we make things better?
Thank you for bringing this to everyone's attn. Linda. YOU do important work!
